God does not promise to heal us only in an isolated instance of illness or need. Rather, God says He is healing. By calling Himself Jehovah-Rapha, He is saying, "Healing is what I
am."
Rapha CCC became a non-profit in May 2015.

Joaquin "Jake" Gonzales

LMFT

I like to introduce myself as a substance abuse counselor who happens to be a therapist. I started my helping career back in 2007 as a certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor working with individuals who found their lives unraveling due to unhealthy choices.

Many felt they knew nothing else, and others felt powerless over what they allowed to spread into every aspect of their lives. During this process, I realized most of the individuals I came into contact with were also dealing with trauma, which opened the door to the idea of an addiction in the first place.

Quickly, I realized I needed to learn more about supporting an individual in their choice to change. I completed my bachelor's degree in social work at Fresno Pacific University. During my work in the non-profit and government sectors, I came to an understanding the biggest

challenges in recovery are family, mental health, and the lack of skills to overcome the reason the addiction started, so I continued my education at the University of Pheonix with my Masters in Marriage and Family and Child Therapy currently I am license with the state of California as an LMFT.

I have always been a Christian while helping others and have used the essentials of the bible to help me be a better person and a better helper. Therefore, I continued my education and eventually became licensed through the National Christian Counseling Association as a Licensed Christian Therapist.

Having a clinical understanding, I utilize motivational interviewing, DBT, CBT, and, at times, a Gastalt approach to help individuals move past their current state. In addition, my faith allows me to help others without judgment, lovingly, with the belief that people can change by utilizing teachings from the bible.
